“Here’s some killer content… literally!”

Task

To help elevate the release of this true-crime series from BAFTA award-winning production company Mammoth Screen, we were tasked with creating a bespoke long-form video piece, highlighting key plot points of Charles Sobhraj’s chilling story. I was tasked with putting together the edit, which included;
• Researching the true story and watching the show to understand the full context and find footage available.
• Working with producers to collate key footage that struck the key thematic pillars.
• Animating motion graphic elements, thinking about the 70s theme and storyboarded aesthetic.
• Putting together the edit. Using the VO as a guide, I experimented with footage to tell each section’s narrative best, keeping pace and the new audience’s knowledge in mind.
• Polishing with sound design. Thinking about when dialogue and SFX were needed. Both, to give a moment context and to create impact.

  • WINNER of ‘Best Online Advertising’ at the World Trailer Awards 2022.

  • Shared across BBC, iPlayer and Mammoth Screen’s social channels.

  • Collectively reached over 85k+ views across BBC and BBC iPlayer’s social channels.

  • Main video piece reach 20k+ views on BBC’s YouTube in under 2 days.

  • Social adapt on BBC’s Instagram reached 44k+ views.

  • Drove fans to discuss and share their thoughts on the series across BBC’s social pages.
